The PTH – Pin Through Hole electronic components feature pin leads for insertion in the holes of the electronic board, with continuity realized through the welding process. The positioning of these components and the clinching, distinctive of the pin leads being folded under the board, can be carried out automatically and safely inside a specially programmed robotic cell. Our assembly cells are variously equipped in accordance with the particular process to be carried out, with possible customizations regarding the grippers that are provided according to the components to be handled or the feeders that handle components in multiple types of packaging (stick, tape, loose …). Furthermore, the same assembly cell can be equipped with vision systems for checking the board indexing or the components and for traceability through linear or 2D coding. The system is operated through a clear and intuitive human-machine interface (HMI) from which it is possible to access all the features, configurations, and functionalities available such as, for example, the management of insertion points, clinching and related parameters, power supply functionality and much more.

Production lines can be integrated and completed by “Cleaning and Dispensing” modules. Our catalogue is complemented by the presence of fully automatic machines dedicated to carrying out the cleaning phase – e.g. cleaning the board with plasma and the dispensing phase of the board e.g. the application of glues, resins, and soldering pastes to isolate, bond and embed the same components on printed circuits, with faculty to also share the same unit. These processes are critical to the reliability and durability of electronic components over time and, consequently, to the overall quality of the product.

“Testing and Inspection” systems provide bespoke online solutions to check the correct assembly of each component and to test its perfect functionality. The automatic optical inspection takes place after the assembly or welding process and evaluates every detail with the aim to immediately report any anomalies, thus becoming an indispensable tool for the safety, quality, and durability of each printed circuit. The inspection stations are integrated into the assembly lines dedicated programming and with the possibility of implementing different technologies tailored to the needs of each production process.
Our catalogue offers various machines for carrying out this very important phase, featuring vision systems and inspection systems of the most valuable brands in the sector. One of the systems completely produced by Fenix for inspection purposes is Horus which relies on technologies for the vision and control of the individual Pins installed on the electronic board, verifying their correct positioning. Another machine listed among the assembly and test systems is the Workstation which was born in cooperation with EGICON Srl, an Italian company specialized in vision systems: this workstation oversees the manual insertion of components onto the board by the operator, with an optical guide system to provide the operator with directions to the drawer from which the component must be taken and to the precise point of insertion by means of a laser shape projected directly onto the board. The phase ends with the option of an additional vision system that checks the correct positioning of the component at the end of the manual operation.

Our “Depaneling” systems are designed to ensure maximum precision to separate PCB printed circuits and bring them to their final shape, with a double solution according to production requirements: In Line and Stand Alone.
In Line PCB Depaneling: it is designed to work directly along production lines, therefore without need for human intervention. The boards are moved by a robot for cutting and milling with high standards of speed and reliability while scraps are removed, until they are finally stored in their finished shape with an automatic completion process that is especially suitable for high production volumes.
Stand Alone Depaneling: designed for high and low production volumes, features manual loading and unloading of electronic boards by an operator. These systems are equipped with an intuitive human / machine interface (HMI) that allows them to be used swiftly and easily and are built with made-in-Italy components that ensure high quality standards and promote effective, low-stress processing for each board.

Each production line is unique and, consequently, requires customized technologies and forms. Our expertise and know-how are aimed at providing complete and integrated systems for each phase of electronic boards production, with specific standard or customized systems dedicated to loading, unloading, moving, overturning and storage.
Our range of “Board handling” systems brings together a rich and varied family of products, connection links between the various process machines with technological features for performing different functions within the line. Among these, for example, is FIFO Rack which performs the identification and separation of failed boards from the good ones: the machine stores the former in a special rack and lets only the latter pass to the next production phase, thanks to a by-pass conveyor.
“Board handling” systems therefore lend themselves to multiple customization possibilities, ranking among the highest expressions of personalization and versatility of our engineering. These features, make it definitely possible to propose production lines fully capable of managing the complete production process of a board, in accurate and effective response to specific requirements from different sectors.

Nowadays, traceability is one of the most prominent issues in the manufacturing system because it is closely linked to the quality of the end product. The target is to record the “production history” of each single available item and thus to identify each individual product. The Fenix Automation Srl catalogue relies on two machines dedicated to this purpose: the laser marking cell and the label application machine.
Laser marking cell: a system for marking the electronic board featuring a laser source, which affixes a code with a permanent and resistant engraving. This cell can mark a variety of linear or 2D codes in various positions on the board, fully programmable by the operator interface.Label application machine: a simple and reliable solution for printing and applying labels aimed at companies operating in the most diverse fields. Our automated labelling cells use CAB printers, a world-renowned leader in the sector, which are integrated into a robotic system that allows a fully programmable application of the required labels in the various positions of the board with precision and excellent quality standards. Moreover, the machine is equipped with an extremely advanced software for the creation, design, and management of labels.

The Automatic Mobile Robot – AMR is a system for moving products and materials within a predetermined environment. The management system saves and stores maps of the various surroundings within the plant that the mobile robot will run across to operate planned tasks, with programming fully available to the customer for establishing the different tracks, allowing fully autonomous movement, safety and precision, including the ability to avoid any obstacles. Furthermore, our Mobile Robots can be loaded manually or set up in connection with other technologies, production lines or assembly systems for full automation of each process.
This automatic machine, which can be customized according to specific requirements, suits the transportation of various loads and weights, carrying out its completely automatic handling tasks without human intervention. The technology of the Mobile Robot thus improves the overall efficiency of the production flow on account of reduced time and costs for hauling goods, thus freeing up personnel resources and enhancing workflow.
